The publishing house «European House» published the memoirs of Aron Perelman the last owner of the famous publishing house “Brokgauz Efron”, one of the establishers of the magazine Jewish World and Jewish Historical and Ethnographic Society. The text was prepared by Evgeny Gollerbah, who made his research within the framework of the Grant programme of 2005 of the International Center for Russian & East European Jewish Studies.

Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies University College London invites to attend in the conference Gained in Translation – Translations and their Influence Upon the Continuity of Russian Jewish Culture in the West between the World Wars that is to be held on September, 21-22 in London.
The third conference of the project “Russian Jewish Cultural Continuity in the Diaspora” will focus on the particular role of translation in continuities and disruptions of Russian Jewish Culture in Western Europe, Britain, and the United States between the World Wars. This focus encompasses translations of literary, philosophical and political works (and ideas) as well as translations between the fine and performing arts.

The 4th Session of the International Forum of Young Scholars on East European Jewry will be held on July 6-9, 2009 in Budapest, Hungary by The Leonid Nevzlin Research Center for Russian and East European Jewry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in cooperation with the Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture at Leipzig University, the Jewish Studies Program at Central European University and the International Center for Russian and East European Jewish Studies in Moscow.
