Topic: Efim Etkind: From Assimilation to National Self-Determination (Towards the Problem of Jewish Self-Identification in 1970s-1990s).

Goncharov, Yury Mikhailovich, Doctor of History, Professor of the Chair of Russian History at the Altai State University. Topic: The Jewish Community of Western Siberia in the Middle of XIXth – Beginning of XXth Centuries: A Diasporal People in the Region of Intensive Colonization.

Kostyrchenko, Gennady Vasil’evich, Ph.D. in History, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Topic: The Jewish Question in the USSR. Academic Exploration of the Topic in the Last Decade. 1994 – 2003.

Frenkel’, Aleksandr Stanislavovich, Deputy Chairman, Executive Director of the Jewish Association of St. Petersburg. Topic: Bibliography of the Jewish Periodicals of Countries of the Former Soviet Union, 1988 – 2003.

Yukhneva, Natalia Vasil’evna, Doctor of History, leading researcher of the Museum Of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Topic: Formation of a Collection of Articles in Jewish Studies and Texts against Anti-Semitism and in Support of the Jewish National and Cultural Movement in Russia/USSR from 1980s to Present by Natalia Yukhneva.

Eliasberg, Galina Arkad’evna, Ph.D. in Philology, Associate Professor of history of Yiddish literature of the Russian-American Academic Center for Bible and Jewish Studies of the Russian State University for Humanities. Monograph “…Odin iz prezhnego Peterburga”: S.L. Tsinberg, istorik evreiskoi literatury, kritik i publitsist (“…One from the Former Petersburg”: S.L. Tsinberg, Historian of the Jewish Literature, A Critic and Piblicist).

Barkussky, Ilya Vladimirovich, Ph.D. student at the Center for Jewish Studies and Jewish Civilization at the Institute of Asian and African Studies of the Moscow State University. Topic of the thesis: Max Lilienthal and His Activities in Russia in 1837-1845.

Vorobiev, Anatoly Borisovich, administrator of the Jewish student organization Hillel. Topic of the thesis: The Jewish Aristocracy of the Russian Empire in Late 1850s – 1917.

Endel’, Maria Iosifovna, Director of Educational Programs of Hillel CIS, the Hillel Center for Promotion of Jewish Youth Life Foundation, Associate Professor of the S. Dubnov Higher School for Humanities (until 2003 – the Jewish University in Moscow). Topic of thesis: The Jewish Kabalistic Texts in the Literature of the Russian Masonry of Late XVIII – Early XIX Centuries.

Yakerson, Semen Mordukhovich, Ph.D. in History, Senior Researcher of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Topic of the doctoral thesis: History of the Jewish Publishing in X-XV Centuries (Based on the Materials from Russian Collections).

Kuras, Sofia Leonidovna, a student at the Department of History of Irkutsk State University. Topic: History of the Jewish Exile to Siberia (Second Half of XIX Century to 1917).

Fedchenko, Valentina Vladimirovna, a graduate student at the Department of Philology of St. Petersburg State University. Topic: The Slavic Component in Literary Yiddish (Based on The Journey of Benjamin the Third by Mendele Mokher-Sforim and Tevye the Milkman by Sholom-Aleikhem).

Chistiakov, Sergey Sergeevich, a graduate student at the Moscow University for Humanities, the Department of Academic Cadres, the Chair of Culture Studies. Topic: Discussion on the Language of the National Culture of the Jews in Russia and the USSR (1900s – 1920s): Between Hebraism and Yiddishism.
